Active pedestrian crossing SMARTPOLE CROSSING, the Netherlands
Active and safe pedestrian crossing were installed in the Netherlands near the school to increase safety of children crossing the road.
Our innovative solution has traffic lights placed inside the pole, a speaker and illuminated D-6 sign (pedestrian crossing sign). Additionally, this solution uses batteries (installed inside the pole), to provide power supply even during the day. The entire system activates when a pedestrian is detected approaching the crossing, this way it informs drivers to drive with caution.
